At Home French Manicure
Pretty quick and simple.

Simply use tape so that all that is exposed is the top part of your nail
where you'll paint in the white polish.
Fill in the white. Let dry. Fill in a second coat of white. Tear off tape before the polish dries. Wait for white to dry completely.

Put a clear shiny coat on.

Ta-da.
Pretty French manicure. ;)

Romance....Rustic....and Sexy.

I took a few glass votives
from Joann Fabrics ($1.99 each)
and 1 jar that had dip in it
which I cleaned out and removed the label from.

I turned them into unique candle holders.

~ROMANCE~
For the ROMANCE candle holder I bought a spool of lace with ribbon.
I used hot glue on the ribbon part and glued it to the glass votive.
I popped in a battery candle, but any candle will work. I just like the battery candles because they flicker like the real thing, but last forever, just replace the battery as needed.

~RUSTIC~
For the RUSTIC candle holder I cleaned out a glass container from my fridge that had dip in it. I soaked it in hot soapy water to remove the label and dried it off. I bought a spool of twine and simply put a vertical line of hot glue down one side of the bottle, from top to bottom. I wrapped the twine around the bottle and the glue on the one side secured it to the jar.

   ~SEXY~

For the SEXY candle I again bought a glass votive for just $1.99 from Joann Fabrics. I got a spool of sexy black lace ribbon. Cut it to size to fit around the bottle and used SPRAY ADHESIVE to secure it all the way around. Simple...and sexy. ;)

The project isn't done yet. What I'm adding to them next is cloth buttons down the seam. It will give them the appearance of the back of a wedding dress, or bustier! I'll post pics when I finish.

Why spend money going to a spa?
Treat Yourself...to bliss at home.

Make time to relax, to reduce stress, and feel good. A warm bath can take all your worries away, leave you in the moment, and  leave your stressful day a faint memory. So grab some magazines, a good book, turn off that phone, and turn on some relaxing music. Make sure to keep a washcloth and dry towel close by so you don't have to hop out to dry your hands when you have to turn a page. Add some essential oils as well. If you're taking the bath before bed add some lavender oil as it helps you to relax even more.
Such an easy way to spoil yourself and leave the day behind you.

Looking for a simple tasty treat?

You can make these color and candy themed for different holidays and wrap them up as gifts for your friends and family to enjoy!
Just dip pretzel rods in melted chocolate (and caramel too--makes it like a twix). Then cover them in all sorts of candies like mini MandM's, hundreds and thousands, crushed candy canes, nuts, coconut...
Mmmmm! They're easy and fun to make and sooo yummy!!!

Looking for a unique way to hold your cotton balls and cotton swabs in your bathroom? Do what I did.
I used an Abalone shell and put it on top of a
unique fold out wooden stand.

Just a *POP* of COLOR

When we moved into our house a few months ago the paint colors were okay, but they weren't vibrant or exciting. This past weekend we added a splash of blue to our guest bathroom. I love it now!

The original color, a soft yellow....

Our pop of color is BLUE! We love it!

DIY Gift for Nursery
This is a fun and personalized DIY baby nursery gift that's easy to do and will always be a one-off unique gift to give. When I gave this to my sister-in-law for my nephew's nursery she cried.
I think that says it all.

Here is what you'll need:

Creativity
Frame
Paper
Items to add texture - See below
Glue Dots
Scissors

First of all, choose your frame. There is no glass in the one I made here. But if you want you can get a shadow box frame with glass. This frame is 12" x 12" which is great because it's the same size as a lot of scrapbook paper that you'll use in your background. You can pick one of these up at Archivers, Hobby Lobby, or any scrapbooking store. Choose your paper. Anywhere you can find scrapbooking paper will offer you a wide array of designs and colors for any occassion you can imagine! They're usually two-sided as well, so you'll have lots of different patterns to use if you buy just a few sheets. The way I choose paper is by selecting my colors first. I like to focus on just 3 main colors. So pick your 3 colors you want to use and choose as many sheets as you want, making sure that when you hold them together that they coordinate and compliment each other.
I bought several different items to add texture, including lace with ribbon running through it, keys, twine, felt hearts,
and paper that had glitter circles.
These will add to the design in a way that paper alone just can't do.
I decided to spell out Charlie's name which came in a box of pre-cut letters. I also cut shapes in some of the papers. The way I chose the shapes was by looking at shape designs that were on the scrapbook papers I chose. I didn't plan the shapes or layout while at the store. I just grabbed what I thought would look good together and figured the design out while making it at home.
Part of the texture was a package of felt hearts. I didn't just want different textures with lace, ribbon, and felt...I wanted metals as well. So I found a package of skeleton keys at the scrapbook store and tied it to some twine which added even more texture. I keep saying texture because for a project like this it's important. Layers! Dimension! Textures! Here I added buttons as well, and little metal beads. The beads were flat on the back and self-adhesive.

Once you have everything lay it all out and take time figuring out how you want to layer and how you want to place all of your items. Add pictures if you want as well! I added one on my final piece. Use the glue dots to secure everything to the board. The glue dots are VERY sticky and will work a charm!

Personalize it even more by writing a message onto the back of the frame. It will be a keepsake to whomever is lucky to receive it.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions! Have fun being creative and seeing the reaction when you give this gift!
